Kalimat, Kalimat: Karim Abousleiman - "Synopsis no. 1"

kalimatkalimat:

DOSSIER: New Media

Music Wednesdays — A composer for film from Beirut, Karim Abousleiman makes electronic music “for fun.”

Synopsis no 1 by KarimAS

One thing that is evident from the production here is the strong sound design approach and the thick textures are full of emotional content. The arrangement is interesting, with a very different rhythm that follows halfway through giving it the feeling of a surprising cut (in the film sense) and a strong sense of story. His bio seems to apologise in advance for being young and having a lot to learn, but we encourage Karim to keep at it and keep making more music.

This is fantastic. I really love that his film background is obvious. Fuckin’ sounds like a movie, and I don’t mean ‘soundtrack’-like. I mean it’s very visual and feels tangible, if you get my drift. texxxture.
