Fine.
So my blog has been all fucked up for the past few weeks, and every time I do something it says I’ve been hacked and makes me reset my password and the formatting goes all weird. Tumblr Help is useless. whatevs. just thought I’d throw this out there. I’m on facebook, that’s enough internet for me anyway. message me if you want me, i still lurk.

DOSSIER: New Media
Music Wednesdays — A composer for film from Beirut, Karim Abousleiman makes electronic music “for fun.”
Synopsis no 1 by KarimAS
One thing that is evident from the production here is the strong sound design approach and the thick textures are full of emotional content. The arrangement is interesting, with a very different rhythm that follows halfway...

Looking Arab.
So the other day, I’m leaving the gym wearing a kuffiyah, and this white guy that works there stops me, and in a confrontational tone says “Yo, nice scarf. Do you even know what it means?”
Of course, I smirk and say “Yeah, I’m Palestinian. Do you know what it means?” (mentally adding, asshole)
Obviously he stumbles over his words after that and apologizes...

what do you mean go to ‘telaviv and you’ll know what i mean’?
The professor was constantly comparing Israel to Canada to try to make a point of how progressive and normal Israel was, and how Israelis and Canadians were so similar in their fun and democracy-loving ways. Tel Aviv to him was the pinnacle of Israel’s Westernized normality, or what...

Get over it man
I was going through my old notes for a class on Zionism I took last year. I have this fun little note of what my Israeli professor said at one point.
“Some people have described Zionism as colonialism. It is not, because it was not a strong country taking control of another. Any how, look at Canada. It was a colonial state. It dispossessed the natives, but you get over it, you move on,...

Like a spring bear
“I really like you, Midori, A lot.” “How much is a lot?” “Like a spring bear,” I said. “A spring bear?” Midori looked up again. “What’s that all about? A spring bear.” “You’re walking through a field all by yourself one day in spring, and this sweet little bear cub with velvet fur and shiny little eyes comes walking...

Fuck Montreal →
sonofapritch:
I’ve written a poem called “Fuck Montreal” as part of a ludicrous challenge I basically imposed upon myself to rewrite something residueatlas wrote, though I did no research and never read the original thing so basically I made it all up. Everyone is welcome to partake/read/hate.
hahah YES. READ THIS. Made my day. Fuck Montreal indeed. Thank you, you sonofapritch.

Good Old Neon
In the dream, I was in the town commons in Aurora, over near the Pershing tank memorial by the clock tower, and what I’m doing in the dream is sculpting an enormous marble or granite statue of myself, using a huge iron chisel and a hammer the size of those ones they give you to try to hit the bell at the top of the big thermometer-like thing at carnivals, and when the statue’s finally done I put...
